Garoo

26 jul. 2002

Par pur esprit de contradiction, cette semaine, je fais mon Friday Five en anglais. Na.

Etant donné que le site ne répond pas, je vais prendre les questions chez lui, en supposant qu’il ne les a pas inventées :o)

  1. How long have you had a weblog?

Let’s assume my weblog started with the first article that’s in my archives. Which is not exactly true, considering the previous failed attempts at having a journal or a weblog or a whatever-that-crappy-text-is. So. The first article dates back to october of 2001. Just make your own calculations, m’kay?

  2. What was your first post about?

Hey, seriously, couldn’t you check out the fsckin’ archives yourself? So the first post is about the fact that I changed my site’s layout and that there was now a journal. Which is quite a logical topic for a first post, isn’t it?

  3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one?

The URL hasn’t changed yet (though if the domain transfer I just initiated fails as I expect it to, we’re likely to move in a near future). The name changed once, recently when my journal became, a blog and I realized that being linked as “garooweb” sounded ridiculous. And for some reason the commas have been consistently misplaced in the previous sentence. I just woke up.

  4. What CMS (content management system) do you use?

I’m a boy, I don’t have PM… ok, nevermind. I make everything myself, I prefer it this way. That’s a constant in my life: I like to be the only one I can hold responsible for failures. As a corollary, I also like to be the only one who deserves praise when there are no failures.

  5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog?

Uh, nah. Can you repeat the question please? I mean, really, what’s the point of having both a journal and a weblog? Isn’t that the kind of separation made by people who just misunderstand the whole blog concept?

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
