Garoo

30 aug. 2004

I suppose I should announce it here for aggregator readers: I added a tagboard on the home page (nothing extraordinary so far, except that I must really be desperate to resort to those things) and it’s also available as an RSS feed. The feed is essentially made for me (more convenient than reloading the page every so often to check for messages — that’s the whole point of RSS, isn’t it?), but if you’re interested it’s available to everyone.

Now all I have to do is learn about Comment API so I could make the first (to my knowledge, and my knowledge may be rather limited on that subject) tagboard entirely usable from an RSS aggregator (Sauce Reader just implemented that, which means you can read and post comments directly from the program). Why use IRC when you have RSS?

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
