Garoo

5 sep. 2004

For years I’ve been thinking the Windows sounds system had a problem, because when there was a system error, the sound was saturated every other time.

It had to be the sound management processes that were slow and had trouble being awaken by surprise. A process not quite ready, system memory not quite filled up by the time it was sent to the sound card, that made sense. I had changed sound cards several times and it didn’t get better. I had changed my sound schemes several times and it didn’t get better. I changed my amplified speakers yesterday and… it got better.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, even though it was quite obvious: I got that speakers kit from my father. It’s amazing I haven’t got more problems with my computers, as I also have them from him. Knock on wood.
