Answers to two long-time interrogations of mine: I could care less / I couldn’t care less and but / but. It’s like “Il vaut mieux entendre ça que d’être sourd” (“Better hear that than be deaf”), I never could get used to it.

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.

Don't believe everything you read department, 7 years ago:

"I could care less" is not, as this seems to indicate, merely a less formal, more sarcastic version of "I couldn't care less," rather it is simply a case of poor grammar. Users of this phrase immediately alert their listeners to their inferior education (as well as to the high likelihood that they probably live in the nearest trailer park)... trust me, don't use this phrase -- you won't be doing your (already nearly) perfect English any favors!
