Garoo

12 nov. 2005

Okay, nothing like a little stroll by the messageboards for Pink TV (the French gay TV channel) to convince me that I really have better things to do with my money. If I have to be militant, I’ll just subscribe to Têtu — the historic French gay magazine. My satellite network’s website is a messy and poorly coded as ever, but it now announces the possibility to remove an option by email (it was until recently only possible by snail mail… yeah, in 2005 still), so we’ll see if they follow through. I don’t like the fact they demand your cell number, and I like even less the fact I caved in so they wouldn’t use it as an excuse to ignore my request and let me linger. They’re particularly famous for doing everything they can to prevent you from ending susbcriptions (like, allowing you to add options on the web, but only removing them by snail-mail), so I wouldn’t put anything past them. And I’m scared of what kind of spam SMS I’ll be getting in the following months.

No better time to stop paying for Pink: they recently showed an old Cadinot (the most famous French porn director/studio), a twenty-first-century Stéphane Berry (a less famous porn director/studio) and Ti’Touch (directed by a French porn star… well, yeah, the only thing worth paying Pink TV for is porn), so they’re not going to have anything watchable any time soon (as much as I love Belami pictures, I hate the movies). And Latter Days is on this Sunday.

I won’t be missing Queer as Folk.

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.

However, I'm 100% with you on this one, regarding your network AND Pink.
