It’s official now: when I’m old, I’ll be an asshole. Instead of empathizing with the poor people who (like me) didn’t think of booking their train seats in time and (unlike me) didn’t even bother to get to the station one hour early and not wait for the billboards to display the platform number to get into the train, I had to refrain from laughing when I watched the mess around me, people getting booted from reserved seats, others sitting crosslegged in the aisle — and it was only a train to Granville, not to the Alps or… a grand city. Yeah, even on Baby Jesus’s birthday I’m deeply, secretly, a misanthrope. When I was young, I didn’t imagine for a second that I’d become bitter as I grew older — and particularly not so soon!
I really do belong in Paris, don’t I? (he writes, remembering of the clichéd bitchy Parisians in the Sex and the City finale.)
Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.

Cédric, ça ma rappelle l'ancien temps où je travaillais à la Gare Montparnasse 1969 à 1980, quand il y avait trois réservation dans un train du vendredi, l'on savait que le train était archi bondé !!
C'est un classique de cette ligne car selon des personnes avisées, les clients normands de cette ligne avaient un porte-feuille en peau de hérisson !

Ah je l'ai trop fait, le trajet Paris - le Havre debout ou en tailleur dans les allées... Maintenant que les réservations sont gratuites, pourquoi s'emmerder ?

Parce que ça suppose de prévoir et j'aime pas prévoir. Pour avoir une réservation à l'aller il aurait fallu que je m'y mette 48 heures avant, et c'est pas mon genre. (Par contre à l'arrivée j'ai pu réserver le retour le lendemain. Il restait une place.)

i really like it, and i feel like that more and more each day (just walking through the stuffed streets, with all these breeder-families shopping and preventing me from buying a kylie dvd)
is that a thing with age (turning 30 myself this year)? or with coming-out ? does the scene do that to us ?
