Garoo

1 dec. 2006

If you’ve tried opening my photolog but ended up on a 404, you can try again (not that it’s spectacular, but curiosity kills, I know).

It looks like Firefox ‘accepts’ rdf before html, causing Apache to try and serve something as “/fr/photolog.rdf/” (which doesn’t work due to the last slash) instead of the same thing with php. I’ve been using content negotiation to take out extensions from my URLs for a while now (as anybody would tell you is the right way to future-proof your site), and never realized (or did, and forgot) that priorities could vary depending on browsers, and give different results.

Incidentally, if you’re using Windows but could access my photolog before I fixed the bug (and changed the photolog-only feed’s address, which shouldn’t concern anyone but I’m noting it just in case), then you aren’t using Firefox, and that’s bad.

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.

Pour info le "bug" était présent sous Opera aussi.
