The Prestige [Garoo]

It’s a fantastic story (and the novel ought to be interesting), but it’s not a very good film, is it? Nolan couldn’t preserve suspense even by mixing all the flashbacks, the problem being that he still insisted on trying rather than embrace the fact that the audience could guess what was going on; and the crappy accents and makeups don’t make the wait for “revelations” that entertaining.

There are plot holes, though. The most important being: How is the ultimate magic trick more impressive, from the audience’s point of view, than its previous version?

P.S. Compared to the book’s synopsis, I clearly prefer the movie’s plot.

Bizarrement, on repère très vite le jeu d'Angier. Aussi ce qui se passe dans le labo de Tesla quand on croit que ça ne marche pas, mais j'ai fait abstraction de tout ça.

C'est vrai que du point de vue du public, ce n'est forcément mieux que le tour précédent, mais faut-il se mettre à la place de ce public ?

Pas une révélation pour moi, mais j'ai fortement apprécié le film, et bizarrement, même si le film n'a pas fait beaucoup d'entrées, j'ai aimé l'affiche (entre autres celle des bus), pourtant pas ragoûtante à première vue.

Bon, y'a mon gratin qui calcine là.

Je ne sais pas à quoi ressemblait l'affiche française. Mais le film est très différent de ce à quoi je m'attendais après le trailer. Enfin, je ne m'attendais à rien de précis, mais certainement pas à ça.
