Being Human

So a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost walk into a bar… well, a house, in fact, and… no, I promise you, the pilot makes a good justification for how they get together. The characters are great, the dialogue is funny, it looks like the story’s going somewhere interesting — then the pilot becomes a series, they change two-thirds of the cast and the general atmosphere of the show, and the result is just the usual safe, mediocre TV crap, you’d think it’s been developed in Los Angeles. Or maybe Vancouver, more like.

Watching the first few episodes in an interesting experience, really; you can almost taste how uninstered the writer became with writing for the new characters, and following the new orientation decided by the production, with all the nice, cuddly characters. But, mostly, it’s sad.
