Hi! Do you remember blogs? Well, this used to be one. Now it just serves as an archive for my multiple Twitter accounts.

1 December 2015

RT @CraigGrannell: Another major creative app, Sketch, leaves the App Store. Apple really needs to address these concerns. [blog.sketchapp.com]

RT @CraigGrannell: Knowing Apple, it’ll address said concerns by forcing all software to be installed from the MAS in OS X 10.12.

If you didn’t buy Monument Valley when everyone said you should, you don’t deserve to get it for free today.

Achevez-moi.

RT @OldManKris: Programming game:

- go to GitHub

- create a new repository

- use the suggested repo name

- write code that does what the repo name suggests

That’s two note-taking apps in a week with a single toggle to enable Apple Pencil and disable all finger input. You’re doing it SO wrong.

Yay! I can buy Rez again and give my 360 away. Also, Rez in VR may or may not be the best thing in the entire world.

Je voudrais mettre à profit ma colère contre Moffat pour me désabonner définitivement de Doctor Who, mais la preview du Christmas special.

Infuse seems to be the best way to stream videos from a NAS to an Apple TV; it’s just odd how it doesn’t explain anywhere what more the Pro version does.

Oh, so I guess Sony is tired of me “buying” the free PSN games for PS3 on my PS4, so they now only show the active console’s games?

Time to back up my iDevices and have iTunes forcibly reinstall all the apps I deleted since the previous sync.

RT @svgeesus: Haha this is awesome. Flexbox Froggy #csswg

9 December

Just got it — Apple doesn’t want your friends to go “oh, there’s a thick iPhone now?” so the external battery has to be super-obvious.

No irony or exaggeration, I 100% think that the design team would find it shameful for people to believe a thick iPhone exists.

10 December

Reading The Fun Home made me want to give a diary another try, but I’d forgotten I gave up on Day One because it stores data in clear text.

RT @netsabes: The Room gratuit sur iPad : [itunes.apple.com]

I’m setting up an Apple Watch and it. is. just. mind. boggling. that they didn’t reuse its on-iPhone setup process for the Apple TV.

I suppose the idea behind The Elder Scrolls Online’s free weekend is “it took me all weekend to install the 80GB, might as well buy it now.”

12 December

After the pain it was to get Guild Wars to a playable state on my Mac, I’m incredibly impressed by how well The Elder Scrolls Online runs.

TESO feels like it killed Skyrim and wears its skin. Come on, couldn’t you just pretend to give me dialogue choices?

My life has changed since I’ve discovered the Apple Watch’s red dot disappears if you just slide the notifications down then back up. (I always went to the trouble of force-touching to clear all notifications, which I found fucking obnoxious, as you can expect.)

Damn, I can’t believe I didn’t play KOTOR sooner. I was afraid the combat would suck — and with good reason — but the rest is so great.

Somehow I stupidly thought Mass Effect had emerged fully formed out of Bioware, rather than being the refinement of a previous game.

Meanwhile, Dr. Langeskov is eminently forgettable, even though the premise should be solid gold and I like Simon Amstell a lot.

Bilan Joylent :

- Vanille 👍

- Café 👍

- Banane + protéines 👍

- Fraise ❤️ (on dirait du BN liquide)

- Chocolat 😐

5/5 will eat powder again.

RT @ultrabrilliant: I love how happy the Lancia Stratos looks in @dirtgame. [pic.twitter.com]

15 December

I’ve never replayed an RPG to try different choices, but I would do KOTOR again to check out the Dark Side… if combat was more palatable.

So what I’m saying is, how on Earth didn’t they remake KOTOR with more modern gameplay as a tie-in with the Old Republic MMO?

RT @provenself: Just the teaser for Crytek’s THE CLIMB makes clear it’s the most terrifying game coming to VR. [youtube.com]

The Timeline update for the original Pebble is live! (A little too late for me.) Looks great; can’t believe how smooth the animations are.

Lightsaber Escape

After all the app excitement, it would be funny if the web was about to have a third coming.

16 December

I bought a folio case to trick my mind into thinking the iPad Pro’s just a big notebook, but… ugh.

And it’s infuriating to think there’s absolutely no reason for the big bezel around the screen other than to make it look like an iPad.

18 December

I could swear that for a few weeks the Share menu in Pocket did the sensible thing. And now it does the stupid thing again (an extra menu).

RT @rclarke: If you think The Beginner’s Guide literally contains stolen content, you’re wrong. You don’t have a different but equally valid opinion.

I’ve long wanted an iPhone chat app to offer a simple desktop remote (avoiding iMessage-like sync issues) and just found out Whatsapp does.

RT @ghweldon: It’s the longest night of the year. We freckled, pasty types hold wild revels in celebration of the death of the sun.

It’s a shame that The Force Awakens came and went without Twitter thinking to introduce a ROT-13 button. Here’s hoping for 2017.

RT @botherer: Nicholas Cage’s life is like a bad Nicholas Cage movie:

“Nicolas Cage returns stolen dinosaur skull to Mongolia”

It’s time to buy either Divinity: Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity. The latter is cheaper today but I suspect I might enjoy the former more… although everyone seems to agree the story is better in Pillars, so I guess that’s sorted then.

23 December

Proper windowing support in iOS would require very little additional work on Apple’s part [twitter.com] [twitter.com]. (Not factoring in, of course, UX design and the question of whether it’s a good idea at all.)

Even drunk I can’t help but analyze the ways this Hue app could be more in sync with the music. How do I turn that part of my brain off.

26 December

Today I’ve installed Windows on an external drive, set up Skyrim and a few mods, and… it works perfectly. That is awful news, obviously.

I’m looking all around, admiring the stonework like a tourist.

Coming back to OS X after three days clearing my Steam backlog in Boot Camp, I feel like my head is finally coming out of a vice.

On the plus side, I’m amazed that Windows just runs flawlessly on a USB 3 external hard drive.

30 December

Good thing I’ve been listening to the Total Party Kill D&D podcast, or I wouldn’t understand half of what’s going on in Pillars of Eternity.

Funny how the undisguised D&D systems annoyed me much more in KOTOR than Pillars. I like my scifi to be immersive; with fantasy I don’t care because I never feel involved anyway.
