Hi! Do you remember blogs? Well, this used to be one. Now it just serves as an archive for my multiple Twitter accounts.

1 June

I never got into Papers, Please but really enjoy both the writing and gameplay of Beholder. It’s a shame the save system is user-hostile.

I wanna give Lego Worlds’ creative mode a shot but I can’t make any sense of the UI

RT @MathildeR0BERT: Empêcher des gens d’avoir accès à l’EAU POTABLE ? Mais où est-on ??? #Calais

RT @HervyPaws: RT to bless someone’s timeline with this precious little thing. [pic.twitter.com]

RT @joethephish: Difference between an iPhone and an actual real life proper movie camera. Never seen such a direct comparison before https://t.co/7E4Dt8db6k

RT @SanbornVR: Literally the most beautiful space images/footage ever captured. Everyone needs to see this, gain some humility.

https://t.co/CW5x66iOsQ https://t.co/AcOW9PnfyJ

RT @carolynmichelle: Here is a video of Fiona, the Cincinnati Zoo’s new baby hippo, exploring her habitat. You’re welcome. https://t.co/LYf2KGTobd

3 June

RT @mtsw: 1) Okay guys we need to talk about this Pittsburgh and Paris stuff. People are confused. It’s about gender. (Thread below) https://t.co/AmR7yzl5V4

Bloodborne is literally the only game that makes me persevere for days trying to open the very door in front of which I keep respawning.

Of course that also means I have an irrepressible urge to tweet that HEY EVERYONE I OPENED A DOOR TONIGHT.

If watchOS 4 still requires two presses of different strengths to figure out temperature and condition I’m switching to Android.

RT @animalcog: A dog’s clever solution. [pic.twitter.com]

4 June

RT @joethephish: Love the way colourising old black and white photos brings the past into the present. This video has great examples https://t.co/RCgJ2fePr1

I can’t find anywhere in Mail or System Prefs that would allow me to re-enter my password, so I guess I’ll just remove the accounts, huh?

(Those are GMail accounts; for my regular IMAP accounts I can find where to change the password.)

RT @amcafee: Truly excellent from @JohnHMcWhorter on why English is so weird, and how it got that way:

The Darkroom app is so good that it’s making me much more frustrated than before with the limitations of my old iPhone 6′s camera.

I should work but I’m spending the weekend with a gorgeous 55” TV so how could I not play Bloodborne, sitting cross-legged a few feet away.

5 June

Level 51 is as good a time as any to find out that Bloodborne takes blood vials from your storage when you respawn.

Il dort bien profondément, le connard qui m’a réveillé à 05:30, 07:30 et 10:00. Qu’est-ce que je lui fais ? 😼

The vertical carousel style for watchOS probably works well to optimize information density, but wtf is up with those gradient backgrounds.

Maybe have the keynote last half an hour longer instead of making everyone rush through everything? No?

RT @ow: apple is clearly listening to the people moaning about performance, and it’s meeting them in the middle, sorta.

I wanted to post a 🤦🏻‍♂️ every time it was warranted (i.e. every 30 seconds) but “Duplicate status.”

Ooh I wanna know what privacy compromises Apple made to finally have iMessage conversations sync properly between devices.

RT @forgottentowel: This means iCloud storage is now encrypted.

RT @gruber: iMac Pro looks awesome. But it is NOT the new Mac Pro. New Mac Pros are still in the works for next year.

Converting live photos to long exposures 👍

RT @freemanrepo: Of course, AppStore in iOS 11 will have stories. #wwdc2017 [pic.twitter.com]

RT @marcoarment: Turns out the past of computing had a lot of good ideas.

Damn, iOS 11 on iPad Pro looks fantastic but I still want to enjoy it on an 8-inch iPad with Pencil and I’m never gonna get that 😢

RT @nickstatt: Apple is making the perhaps very smart assumption that stellar audio and subpar AI trumps subpar audio and semi-OK AI.

6 June

RT @jakemarsh: Best part about iOS 11 screenshot behavior (tiny window + Markup) - is you can say “Done” then discard after sharing. No need to save!

RT @stroughtonsmith: I haven’t opened one of my iOS projects in (only!) a year, and this is what I’m greeted with. Thanks, Swift. https://t.co/ISD4m31qlw

RT @NathanJLiu: There’s a Pride Apple Watch band available! [pic.twitter.com]

RT @praeclarum: I asked ARKit for the height of my table. It was off by 3cm. 3.8% error. From a lousy video camera. This thing is great.

7 June

I’m catching up on House of Cards and it’s weird to think during season 3 you were supposed to root for the “unconventional” president.

RT @fraserspeirs: On the iOS 11 home screen:

Short tap = open

Medium tap = popover menu

Medium hold = begin drag

Long hold = enter rearrange mode

8 June

I keep forgetting to try and play with that thing.

Except I hate flowcharts and mind-maps and my system’s structure is much more inspired by Inkle’s format.

RT @scottbuscemi: Apple Music’s Planet of the Apps’ first company pitch was an app that ARKit sherlock’d the day before.

Good representation of app world.

RT @stevesilberman: This bot is more significant than it appears. Reestablishes democratic norm that anything POTUS says is history.

Only just realized that omg I can finally enable iMessage on my Mac, too, without losing messages — and that means no more FB Messenger \o/

RT @natisho: When you offload Apps in #iOS11beta [pic.twitter.com]

RT @Kiey: It would be pretty cool if it assigned you with a random other player. Actual prisoner dilemma stuff.

Watching a PUBG stream and damn I wish I had FPS friends to team up with. (I’ll probably end up playing it solo but it’s just not the same.)

11 June

Oh, of course killing the boss in Old Yharnam opened a door in Cathedral Ward. God I hate how willfully obtuse Bloodborne is.

I’m addicted to the NYT crossword and there’s 20 years’ worth of archives in the app so I should be productive again around 2022.

RT @cathy_birdy: Having fun with ARKit & SpriteKit [youtube.com]

Forza’s drab tracks haven’t been a good showcase of a new console’s visuals for two generations.

That was basically a cutscene but I can’t wait to see what the new Metro looks like on my PC.

RT @haydencd: Have to admit: I was hoping a year off would give us something less recognizably Assassin’s Creed.

RT @haydencd: Kudos on the setting change but so far this looks like the same tired-ass game I’ve played a dozen times.

12 June

RT @ajohnagnello: In Destiny, see, you’re a Guardian with a jet bike! In Anthem, you’re a FREELANCER with a jetpack. You see, right? https://t.co/KOqOSUGwuC

RT @Sliwinski: Anthem is the promise of Destiny. The question will be can a shooter company make a better RPG or can an RPG company make a better shooter?

Why is Bioware making EA’s Destiny competitor and who is gonna make proper Bioware RPGs now? 😰

TIL that you can play Black Desert Online on PC with a gamepad. I should give it a… oh, it’s not F2P in Europe? Never mind then.

RT @Campster: That might have been a bit presumptuous. I hope it’s EA’s Destiny, and not EA’s The Division.

I am irrationally angry at the obnoxious absence of labels on the Apple Store’s tables.

How expensive is an E3 conference that no one was able to tell the sponsor he should maybe cut a few minutes from his speech?

What is up with Ubisoft’s developers having human-like feelings? It’s weird.

There are many opportunities for The Crew 2 to be terrible (starting with their track record) but I’m intrigued.

And it looks gorgeous.

I’ll never understand why people are so fascinated with pirates. Boats are boring?

Skull and Bones has a crazy level of visual polish for a game that’s basically the same thing as Windward.

RT @JosiahRenaudin: That’s the best Ubisoft press conference in quite some time. Very human.

13 June

I hope the Shadow of the Colossus remake plays better than The Last Guardian.

RT @DanStapleton: Spider-Man looks spectacular, but I hope it’s less linear than this demo suggests.

RT @Sinsem_: David Cage needs to read a science fiction novel, at least once in his life. [pic.twitter.com]

RT @stroughtonsmith: There’s also a TableViewReorderingUsesDragAndDrop pref key for UIKit that does away with the legacy reordering behavior and uses DnD instead https://t.co/kASkY4acro

RT @mattgemmell: Slow-mo vid showing ProMotion on iPad Pro 10.5” vs 9.7”. [pic.twitter.com]

Mario Odyssey definitely looks much better than the shitty-real-world visuals they showed for the initial announcement.

RT @robmanuel: Increasingly uncomfortable with Facebook doing this. I live 6 miles away. Feels like they’re adding to people’s stress to drive engagement. https://t.co/6UxZ6iJDTZ

My NYT crossword streak is back down to four days and I never realized I’d missed one 😔

RT @steve_breen: Surprising WWDC labs takeaway:

Many developers eschew the trackpad “natural scrolling” direction setting 😂

With this heat there’s no way I’m turning on the PC — never mind a VR headset — so I guess I’ll focus on interactive fiction for the summer.

Providing support for an app that sold for all of three months until it saturated its very niche market is the worst.

At least no one’s contacting me about bugs in Uniconsole because no one’s using it anymore.

RT @christianmccrea: If you need a self-imposed Twitter break, just tell a nazi to go fuck themselves, the app takes care of the rest for 12 hours.

RT @ID_R_McGregor: Japanese Robot Sumo.

None of this footage has been sped up.
