The thing about most writing advice (remove adverbs, “kill your darlings”, “write what you know”, etc) is that it’s meant for Creative Writing teachers to give 101-level students. It’s a corrective for common newbie mistakes, not intended as eternal verities.

@DjangoWexler It’s always interesting to me when I see other authors(not you or Chuck) tweeting about how terrible certain oft-repeated and oft-misunderstood bits of writing advice are.

Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
