 APBLes créateurs de Crackdown dévoilent enfin leur nouveau jeu, qui semble appartenir à la catégorie des jeux d’action à matchmaking transparent s’appropriant abusivement l’étiquette de MMO (façon The Agency ou, dans un autre registre, Test Drive Unlimited). Mais je ne leur en veux pas, parce que la personnalisation et le réalisme des avatars sont hallucinants (la façon dont les textures personnalisées enveloppent les modèles fout la honte à Forza 2), les graphismes sont carrément plus faciles à vendre que ceux de Crackdown et je n’ai pas trop de doutes que le gameplay sera à la hauteur. Avec en bonus la promesse d’inclure la création de vidéos machinima (je me demande bien comment ça peut marcher sur console, mais on verra quand le moment sera venu), APB se retrouve instantanément très très haut dans ma liste des jeux les plus attendus pour 2008. |

 Unreal Engine 3 / Gears of War 2Maintenant que Gears 2 est officiellement annoncé, Epic en profite pour lancer la promotion croisée du jeu et de la nouvelle version d’Unreal Engine qui l’accompagnera ; à regarder sans le son (mon dieu, j’avais oublié qu’il y a vraiment des geeks qui parlent comme ça, et on les envoie faire des présentations dans des amphithéâtres) pour voir les environnements destructibles et, plus important, les Locust qui déboulent par centaines dans une map de Gears. Il se pourrait que le jeu ne déçoive pas. |

Premiers téléchargements pour PGR4Il me semble que j’avais lu pas mal de plaintes sur l’absence du mode “cat and mouse” dans cette itération de Project Gotham Racing, donc c’est certainement un très bon ajout, mais j’ai surtout hâte de pouvoir me balader librement dans la ville en “tourist mode” — et d’avoir une nouvelle (ancienne) BMW M3. |

Bioware remue le couteau dans la plaieS’il y a un reproche qui a été universellement fait à Mass Effect, c’est qu’il soit impossible de continuer à jouer et explorer l’univers après avoir fini l’histoire, et que la seule façon de visiter tous les mondes et remplir toutes les missions auxiliaires soit de relancer une partie. Du coup, tout le monde supposait un peu que les missions supplémentaires proposées en téléchargement règleraient le problème, et permettraient de reprendre Shepard là où on l’a laissé — d’autant que j’avais toujours entendu dire que les téléchargements serviraient de transition entre Mass Effect 1 et 2. Eh bien, non, mais alors carrément pas : non seulement on ne peut pas utiliser le pack “Bring Down The Sky” en reprenant à la fin du jeu, mais il ne suffit pas non plus de relancer une partie ; il faut que Shepard soit aux commandes du Normandy pour effectuer cette mission. Ce qui veut dire que, si vous ne vous y prenez pas à l’avance (ça tombe bien que le pack soit disponible dans un mois) et que vous n’avez pas gardé sur votre disque dur une sauvegarde du milieu du jeu (entre l’accès au Normandy et le départ final de la Citadelle) vous allez devoir relancer une partie et repasser Eden Prime et toutes les conversations qui établissent l’histoire… pour avoir le privilège de voir apparaître sur votre écran de navigation l’astéroïde que vous aurez payé 400 points. J’ai très très envie de boycotter le download pour leur apprendre la vie, là. |
