Heroes 3.01--3.02 [Garoo]

There’s been a long break and I’ve been watching better shows over the summer and I just have a hard time taking a trip back to the land of plot holes, ridiculous logic leaps and horrendous clichés.

It’s tough to resent a show that guest stars turtles, and there’s a couple actors I’m glad to see getting more screen time, but I’m not even sure I want to get back to reluctantly enjoying shows like Heroes or Lost.

Surely the point about Heroes is just that it LOOKS so nice? There are massive plot holes (what happened to Claire's boyfriend from the end of Season 2? Why wasn't she the least bit surprised to see that her Dad is actually still alive?) but it's all so glossy and fun, I can very easily get swept up in it all. Plus I've fallen in love all over again with BAD Peter Petrelli (yes, I know this is a man whose hair does the bulk of his acting but he's dreeeeaaammmy). I'm uneasy about the turtle though. They call it a turtle but surely in the middle of the African savannah, it can only be a tortoise?

I'm making a bet: you'll watch the whole season of Heroes AND Lost .. and I'm going even further: you'll prefer Heroes over Lost :)

Oh, I learned something today; I'd never bothered to check if there was a difference between a tortoise and a turtle. It's the same word in French, so how could there be — plus, tortoise and turtle like the same word only spelled differently and pronounced with more or less slurring.

Of course I'll end up watching both, but you shouldn't bet your house on the second part; that strikes me as unlikely.

I agree wholeheartedly. But what bothers me the most is the endless time-traveling and the lame attempts at binding the characters' powers; how can the world always be in danger when you got hiro, Claire and Peter fighting for the "good side"??? I just don't buy it. And as much as I love Zachary Quinto, Sylar should have been a done deal last season.

Finished The West Wing (good, obviously, although I didn't particularly enjoy the last two seasons), Arrested Development (excellent), and caught up on Burn Notice (mildly entertaining).
