Dogville

If someone had told me I’d find a Lars von Trier movie so great, I wouldn’t have believed it. Of course, it starred Nicole Kidman, but he had managed to make an unbearable melodramatic piece of crap with Björk, so everything could still be feared.

Now what should be feared is what loving this movie says about me and the state of mind I’m in these days. I like to think there was a time when I wasn’t like that, I had some hope, almost even some faith in the human species — at least every other day. Now all I can convince myself with every other day is that maybe, some day, I’ll manage to find hope again.

What a pity that happy ending only happens in the movies.
