Screw MSIE6, I’m moving to transparent PNG for good this time. Update your browser if you really want to use Internet Explorer. (Yeah, I know, anyone who’s still using IE is probably not qualified to upgrade it either. Well, that’s their problem.)
I feel like I’ve already written that before, though.
For the record, this is a relatively temporary layout (well, they all are, aren’t they?). I’ve got a much prettier, more elaborate idea in my mind, but no time to implement it right now. Which is the reason why I wanted to have some graphics again and I dug up an old header from September of 2004.
P.S. Don’t use opacity to blend your post slugs into the background. It took me several days to realize that’s what was making scrolling awfully slow (rather than the big jpeg, or the transparent pngs).
Want to know when I post new content to my blog? It's a simple as registering for free to an RSS aggregator (Feedly, NewsBlur, Inoreader, …) and adding www.garoo.net to your feeds (or www.garoo.net if you want to subscribe to all my topics). We don't need newsletters, and we don't need Twitter; RSS still exists.
