The show takes a really slow start, and its quality is rather subtle — kind of a more gritty, less romantic My So-Called Life — so it’s no wonder the network failed to promote it. Just another one of those shows that’ll make you feel sorry you started caring for the characters by the time you reach the finale (which, at least, was written and directed as a finale).
And the Emmy for Oustanding Casting was well-deserved. (I can’t believe how much more likable Linda Cardellini’s character is than in ER.)
